Vigil Tours at Norwich are a ceremony of honor, to commemorate a fallen soldier, student, or faculty with relations to Norwich. We have one for September 11th that runs for 24 hours, that of which has a “Changing of the Guard” every hour. A Cadet marches back and forth slowly on a small strip of concrete in front of our Flagpole on the “Upper Parade Ground” (The Quad with Grass). He carries a M14 on the shoulder, always facing the flags. A group gets together the day before and puts down a flag for each and every fallen victim. And this way, we hope to always keep their memories, and never forget.
